LEATHER UPHOLSTERY SERVICES

There’s nothing more comfortable and refreshing than coming home after a long day and plopping down into the comfort (and being surrounded by the aroma) of a soft leather couch or chair to catch a re-run of Seinfeld. Cleaning leather furniture is different than cleaning any other type of furniture. There are certain do’s and don’ts for cleaning leather furniture. Because leather is an expensive investment and tends to wear faster here in Arizona with UV radiation and high temperatures (frequent running of the air conditioner removes moisture from the air and subsequently moisture from leather), it is important to properly clean and moisturize leather on a regular basis to keep it healthy, soft, and smelling fresh. STEPS IN UPHOLSTERY LEATHER CLEANING

  • Carefully inspect the piece of furniture for the manufacturer’s list of materials and recommended cleaning process. Also inspect for pre-existing damage, spots, stains, and contaminants. Determine the best methods for achieving the desired outcome.

  • A leather appropriate cleaner is applied with a microfiber cloth and gently worked into the leather and allowed to dwell for several minutes to release contaminants and oils. The cleaner is then gently removed with a clean microfiber cloth.

  • Cleaning is followed by use of a high-quality leather conditioner to restore the moisture into the porous material and to deter premature aging and cracking.
